A seasoned writer already gave all the goods about the Grand Opening of Transformative Rail-to-Rail Bike/Walk Path on Slauson that brought the South L.A. Community Out to Play last May, so I won’t repeat it; I’m merely here to tell you to go ride it!

The algorithm put a post on my Instagram news feed that actually interested me! This is where the usually sickening algorithm ain’t so bad.
I double-tapped, left a comment, took a screenshot, then added the Slauson Rail to Rail Ride to my calendar when I came across it in my camera roll a couple of days later.
Do you know that when the day of the group bike ride came, it still had slipped my mind?
Baby, I was way in Burbank sipping ever so slowly on a rainier matcha at Baja Beans that I’d noticed on my way to Adam’s Apple. (I missed out on the rainier portion of the rainier matcha because apparently only iced beverages get topped with cherries. Yes, in the midst of a heat wave in L.A., I ordered a hot matcha.) I’m sitting in the small, local coffee shop started by two friends from Florida, sipping on my matcha and up pops a calendar reminder. Girrrrrl, let me make my way down to South L.A., I think as I jump up and head towards Burbank’s cute and clean lil’ bus.
Whew child, I’m sitting here the day after that group ride and I’m tied. I can’t even remember what I was about to say. Here, I’ll upload the photos that I took during Metro’s Slauson Rail to Rail Ride to an album then embed it below.
Oh, if you’re curious, Adam’s Apple, where I was before grabbing matcha and remembered about the ride, is an Apple and PC repair shop in the greater Los Angeles area. Folks are trying to tell me that it’s time to upgrade from my 2015 MacBook that I’ve been having since college, but I’m hoping the repair guys will make the devil a lie! [pouts]
